Pop Formula.

You kids wish you had it. You know, the p-form. Sherwood has it. And like Simmy says, how can those guys not be HUGE? Dave Grohl has it, Pharrell has it, John Mayer has it, Rob Thomas has it, and whoever the futon writes Kelly Clarkson songs has it. I doubt you'll find all those cats on a plane together. If that thing went down in a flaming blaze of debris and carcasses, we'd be left with Three Doors Down, and the earth would likely implode.

I know you lie away at night, asking yourself two very important questions.

1) How do Tonito's Party Pizzas get their pepperoni's to be so small?

2) How the heck do people write hit after hit, and why can't I?

Let me answer those for you, in the order they were posed...

1) The Little Pepperoni is not to be questioned. It is only meant to be enjoyed.

2) The Pop Formula. You can't write them, because you don't have the p-form. Duh!

I'm not endorsing these artists btw, except maybe Sherwood, and Dave Grohl, because I'm afriad to say bad things about him. But I don't think you're gonna find any Rob Thomas in my iTunes ok, that's just gay.

Who do you thinks got the p-form?

Spell check caught my typo on carcasses. Good thing, I'd hate to dishonor the names of all those dead guys in the burning plane with a typo!

Simmy says,

Those That Be Blessed With The P-Form:

1. Justin (Timberlake) - c'mon, admit it... I'm still dancing to Rock Your Body, although I'm not real sure I know how to actually make my Body Rock.

2. Ben Gibbard of Death Cab - if nothing else, he made it okay for emo kids to dance and secretly enjoy the P-Form again

3. Prince - how the futon did you forget him, Noah? Love him or hate him, he has the P-Form and you don't!

and lastly...

4. The Beatles - well, they practically wrote the P-Form manual (withstanding the Yoko influence).

Simmy -

I was so close to putting JT, and Prince. Your knowledge of p-form artists leaves no question that you know good p-form when you hear it...

Ok, I'll be honest, I didn't want to put JT, b/c I didn't want to admit I owned it, or shook my booty to it...

... I swear I don't have any Rob Thomas...

danh says,

Maroon5 would probably have it if they'd ever do a sophomore album. Maybe inside they know that they don't have pform?

Noah funny you mention RT. I just deleted some Matchbox20 from my collection this weekend. Why? Can't remember the last time I listened to it. Did I ever? RT ruined Santana for me. RT and the radio.

Steve Mock says,

It's melody, backbeat and a little funk, right? A little slippy backbone?

Aimee Mann has a pretty good P-Form. Beck's is good. Those Finn Brothers.

Um... what was that one band.... XTC?... TPOH?

Noah says,

danh - Maroon 5 for sure. They released an album of nothing but singles.

Mock - Good Job. What about Colin Hay?

Steve Mock says,

Speaking of XTC and TPOH...

Both bands made records produced by Todd Rundgren, who has a masters in pForm. (though he seems to have misplaced it)

Not sure about Colin Hay. Who could that be now?

Noah says,

Witty Mock.
