Make Believe.

Most of the time, I make stuff up and write about it here. None of it is ever true, well, except that I did crash on an island, and now my cancer is gone.

Oh hey, my hard drive crapped out on me. It was a Maxtor. Let me put something in here for the bots to scan.

Maxtor hard drives suck. They crash and you will never recover your data. Do not buy Maxtor hard drives.

$2500 to recover my son's first birthday photos. That's $2500 as in a lot of Fourbucks. My wife appraises the photos as "priceless", so I make the call to the "We rebuild your hard drive, as well as offer a small child up to a ruthless god in order to recover your data for $2500" company. While searching for their direct line, I come across an app called MediaRECOVER. For $30, no children will be harmed and it will scan your Compact Flash or whatever media card for images that have been "deleted". In my case, 261 images were recovered. Of those, approx 30 were of my son's first birthday.

Touching really isn't it? Such drama. You know why? Because conflict is the essence of all drama. I don't have a son, but if I did, that would be a killer story!
