I've been working on my guitar stances as of late. Trying to nail that stance that really speaks to the audience, you know, shows them how much of a shredder you are... There are so many factors, how low the guitar is, how pained your face looks the higher up the neck you get, and of course, the pumping of the crotch. I don't want to have too much crotch, but at the same time, if there is no crotch out there, it looks a little silly. Distance between ankles is another key factor; Balance is important, yet, if my feet aren't far enough apart, it I looks like I have to pee. A real crowd favorite is the one foot on the monitor, with hip thrusts on each note bend... but I have a hard time with that because I really like to move to the beat and the last two times, my heel went right through the monitor...

You need to calculate the head bob factor too. You need it to show you have some kind of rhythm, but too much makes you look like an Iron Maiden head banger.
I struggle with this too, more so on acoustic since I don't have an electric. An electric stance with acoustic makes you look like a poser, but you don't want to look like a tool with your guitar at your throat either. Plus there's the whole sitting factor, what sitting apparatus do you use? There's just so much to think about in being a Rockstar...

I'll grant you that, there is alot to consider in your rockstar (-esque?) stance. However, its really all about the walk. if you can nail that swagger up to the front of the stage and hit the entrance to that mind boggling solo right into the crowds face, then procede with the usual antics, that is the ultimate anti-tool.
