AA.

Caleb told me about them first, raving about how great their stuff is. Since then, I've heard of them here and there. But just yesterday I'm having this conversation with a fellow Laker-Hater, and it comes up again.

I'm talk about that shirt company that pedals porn ads, you know the one. Their initials are AA. Anyways, it appears they meet all of my requirements, sans one, for a great futon shirt. I'm talking about the essentials:

  • Not too long. - Last time I checked, I didn't have a rap career. I can't be lifting up my shirt to put my hands in my pockets.
  • Non-baggy sleves. - I learned a few years ago, if you want to make your biceps look like you hit the gym everyday, baggy sleves have got to go.
  • Stretch neck. - If the neck on the shirt stretchs, it's out. I don't do the stretch.

These are a few of the key factors in shirt shopping. The other one, that I understand AA doesn't have, is the use of 50/50 vs. Combed Cotton. While combed cotten can be soothing, and pleasant to touch, nothing stands up to years, like since highschool, of washing like 50/50 can.

Now, I've yet to buy one of these babies, b/c really, who has the time to narrow it down to just one. But, I'm thinking about it. After my three month internal mind review, I'll likely make a trip out to the midlands to perhaps try on a friends shirt, see how it feels, maybe evaluate it a little more. See how the shirt flows on the body during a game of 3-on-3, see how the shirt handles an entire day of web surfing, and most importantly see how the shirt handles a lunch at Round Table.

Upon return to my overpriced neighborhood, I may just ask Chris Mullen for a game of 1-on-1 before I make a purchase. I find it easier to contemplate hard decisions like this when you're taking it to a white boys kitchen, and talking trash about how his sister is a tramp.

The dude can date who he wants. What I want to see is a company whose products sell themselves. That's what I want to see. Well, that and a life sized cardboard cutout of MacGyver holding a real life six pack of New Castle.

Caleb HaGEN says,

it's been a while since i visited the MF (personal reasons or something). however, while my computer was doing a routine task of downloading the recent Safari 2.0 update, i thought i'd get a couple more seconds of Safari 1.? usage for the last time.

it pleased me to see my name (and to see my endorsement for American Apparel). However, after reading the article above, i feel a little sense of distate for the CEO of American Apparel. but, to be honest, i never liked the company for their CEO in the first place. however, i feel that i must once again make clear my stand on what's right and what's wrong.

1. it's plain wrong to boycott a given company for the bad morals/values of the CEO.
2. it's plain wrong to support a given company for the good morals/values of the CEO.
3. it's plain right to boycott a given company because the actual products suck (examples: Microsoft, Dell, Saturn, and Radio Shack)
4. it's plain right to support a given company because the actual products are excellent (examples: Apple, Subaru, Pixar, American Apparel)

my point is clear i hope, purchase American Apparel ... but please avoid Abercrombie & Fitch (have you seen their ads? Geez! And who knows what their "Higher-Ups" are about?)

Actually, it was you who broke the cardinal rule that says thou shalt not comment more than twice on your own blog. You've got 3 out of the 7 comments.. and if you count that you wrote the blog.. you have commented a full 50% of the time.. .. but just iin case.. now i am the final comment. for today. futon.
