I just can't help but posting this. Today is Wednesday, July 20th, 2005.
Here is my prediction:
Rumors are starting to fly about a Video iPod with Apple selling movies or music videos via iTunes.
I say Futon to that. Jobs has said before, there will be no video iPod.
Seriously, who wants to watch a movie on a screen that small? Have you thought about that? Do you realize that you have been complaining that your 27" TV is too small?
Instead, there will be something along the lines of Airport Express. Let's call it Airport Express 2. The basic premise is that just as Airport Express streams your audio anywhere in your house to your pimped out stereo, Airport Express 2 will do the same, but this time not to your stereo, but to your 42" plasma. The content will obviously be sold via the iTunes music/movie store. There is no ugly set top box, no computer in your family room, just a small wireless device about the size of a couple decks of cards tucked nicely behind your television...
If I'm wrong, then laugh in your heads at me. If I'm right, then make me a sandwich.

Finally, something an iPod can't do.
There's this guy around B'more here that is absolutely insane about the "podcasting" revolution... listening to him rave, you'd think he'd discovered something novel. I tried to explain to him that "dude, its just a fancy name for downloading an audio file, wtf?" but he was having none of my sense-bringing.
Something about the white headphones that makes you people insane.
That being said, I seriously need to get me an iPod.

It's all about the white earphones.

Podcasting... let's see...
Huge MP3 with little or no data, therefor no way for me to tell which songs are which, and generally some idiot talking in between. Or just some idot talking the WHOLE TIME.
How very revolutionary. Forgive me if I don't jump for joy over this amazing "new technology."
As for the video iPod... why would I want to watch the most likely soon to come silver screen adaptation of The Golden Girls (you heard it hear first, they're running out of ideas... GG is inevitable) on a freaking iPod. I don't even get the iPod photo, much less a video version.

Shua - Wise beyond your years I say... Podcasting is boring. Video iPods are for really small people. I mean, REALLY small.

Jobs is too greedy.
less is more, steve. less is more.

Ya know, if anyone is guilty of selling people shit they don't need just so they can say they own it, its Apple.
I can see it happening, as ridiculous as it is. Someone will be able to justify spending 300 clams so they can watch Mini Cooper and Red Bull commercials. Thereafter, its just a matter of "Oooh! I needs to get me one of them!", and Jobs makes another billion selling America's ass back to them.

I think I will probably be making you a sandwich.

making me a sandwich on your knees is what you'll be doing for me. Then a back rub.

If I remember correctly, he also said that Apple would never make a Flash iPod either.

yep, a $1 a year wage sure is greedy. also the mac os x and ipods do so well because they're simple, and free from all the complexities offered with the competition. they have less complexity, and more simplicity.
