I wasted an entire season of Alias drugding through all the repetitive dialogue, the lame non contiguous storylines, the incredibly unsexy spy walk that Sydney does, all for the last 30 seconds of this season finale. If JJ knows one thing, it's how to keep me hooked until next season.
Of course, before Alias was Lost. (If you haven't seen Lost, stop reading) When that guy blew up, that was awesome. Even more awesome was Hurley's response. The monster, or crazy floating cloud thing, yeah futon. And the pirate people or whatever, what is that all about? Are they "The Others"? A lot of ends tied up, but a lot of new material to work with. Dag, I can't wait for next season.
I also wish that chiropractic care was available daily. My 6th rib is killing me.
Lost theories:
- The island is a military experiment.
- The "smoke" was actually part of the "security system", which is a huge swarm of nanotech robots... that eat flesh.
- Locke wasn't crippled, he's just futon insane.
- The hatch is an emergency exit from a vast underground compound.
- "The Others" are controlled by the military.
- The polar bears were in the cargo hold of the plane.

what would polar bears be doing in the cargo hold of a passenger plane? although my wife thinks this line of thinking is silly, i think there's some sort of alien presence involved. follow along with me on this line of thinking. rousseau had no knowledge of the hatch (and her team ended up on the island by following a transmission of the numbers inscribed upon it), so it must at least predate her (16 year) stay on the island. if the wreck of the black rock, too, was influenced by something to do with the mystery of the island/hatch, then the technology would predate it, a slave ship! obviously, the technology is pretty advanced, since the "security system" seems to be mechanical rather than organic in makeup. for technology that advanced to be even 16 years old, let alone the 150-plus it would have to be to predate the black rock, it almost certainly couldn't be of human origin. i still think there's more to it than that, especially with locke's spiritual theories and the others' continuing pattern of taking children, but that's my take as of now. i change my mind pretty often though. that JJ sure knows how to weave an intriguing plot. this is going to be a long haul waiting for the first episode of next season.

Apparently JJ has said that there are no "supernatural" beings or influences, and that everything that happens on the island can be "explained". That kind of shoots down the alien theory.
I think they are using the human psyche to get away with a lot of things. Seeing people who are dead, hearing voices etc.
Whats with the kids. The baby, and now Walt. Somehow Walt knew about the hatch w/o seeing it. And now they took him away. Wtfuton?

Now time travel is possible...remember time is relative...you know E=MC2. If the velocity of the plane crash and the mass of the plane had enough energy it could have warped them into some different time era. But I still think they are in hold pattern for life after death. Just think...they are taking the kids because they have mistakenly ended up there when they should have the automatic pass into the golden palace. JJ is the king of futons though...could you just please finish one story...I could give a flying futon anymore...peace out
