I saw this little study on some website. It supposedly lists the 20 happiest cities, and the 20 most depressing. I thought I would highlight a few and give my thoughts.
Happiest:
No. 6 - Honolulu, HI. Yeah, DUH! You live in Futon Hawaii and chances are you're gonna be happy.
No. 7 - Fresno, CA. The 'No'. This must have been a typo. I've been here, and my body physically ached until I left. Fresno is the armpit of the central California valley.
No. 9 - Lincoln, NE. I dated a girl who went to college in Lincoln. She cheated on me with my best friend. I guess that made her real happy.
No. 10 - Bakersfield, CA. My sister in law lives in Bako. They have oil derricks right in the middle of elementry school playgrounds. Look ma, Billy's drinking black stuff...
Depressed:
No. 2 - Detroit, MI. Are you kidding me? The Pistons are the reason why the Futon Lakers were embarrassed on national TV, and the reason why they didn't even make the playoffs this year. They should be on the Happiest list. Lakers suck.
No. 7, 8 and 9 - (3-way tie) Mesa, Phoenix, and Scottsdale, AZ. Gee, you think. I mean, it only gets to like 120 degrees there. I'd want to shoot myself too if I had to live in that hell on earth.
No. 10 - New York, NY. I've been to NY a few times. I Heart NY.
No. 18 - Los Angles, CA. If you've never been to LA, spare yourself the trouble. The freeways are parking lots. The people are plastic. And everyone has an alterior motive. I heard the smog was the reason why they had such beautiful sunsets.
Here is the complete list for those interested. Pipe up in the comments on your thoughts of the accuracy of this list.

I'm wondering if there was a list of cities that thought this survey was really stupid. If so, I'm putting my money on San Diego as the #1 city who thought this whole concept kissed grits. There is a very simple reason for SD being at this number one position in my opinion: They are SO HAPPY that they are embarassed. I live in LA.
