Why are minivans so feared?

The association they have with growing up/family/kids etc. At least that's my best guess. In other words, it's a mental thing. What is the biggest draw to minivan's for folks? Great milage? Stylish looks? No. It's room. Lot's and lot's of room.

Minivans are like small houses on wheels. You can store just about ANYTHING in them; I've seen a refrigerator in the back of one once. And now with all those storage areas under the seats and all, Futon man, U2 could probably tour in one. It is surprisingly deceptive when it comes to just how much room you have inside of a minivan. So why don't more folks buy them? I mean, room is good right? Well, folks do buy them. They buy A LOT of them. But instead of being called minivan's they go under a different moniker. SUV.

That's right. An SUV is a minivan with bigger tires, worse gas milage, heftier price and uncomfortable ride. Should I say this again for all your SUV owners out there? (Those that fear the minivan)

You may not think so, but everyone else does. Why did you buy that SUV? To go off roading? Doubt it. For the 4x4 action? Uh, no. Let's face it, unless you live in the Futon cold snowy-arse mountains, you don't need 4x4 action. I've never seen a 4x4 crawling over stopped cars in traffic on the 680. So maybe you bought it for the room. All that glorious room for you to put all of your (non-4x4'ing) toys. Of course!

So why did you buy the SUV instead of the minivan? I'll tell you. A lack of self confidence. You're weak in the head, and you know it. You're afraid of what other people will think, seeing you driving around in your minivan, laughing in their heads about your lame vehicle choice. You fear the social outcast. As you should. However, I'm hear to tell you something. Minivan's are the new black. That's right. Pimps and playa's are to drive the minivans, and poor losers are stuck in the SUV's. Believe it.

Oh, and I own an SUV.
