France honors Bruce Willis?!?

bruce.jpgWe all know that the French are usually a few couisants short of a bakers dozen, but this right here takes the cake.

I quote, "'France pays homage to an actor who represents the force of American cinema and the power of emotions that he invites us to share on screens throughout the world," Culture Minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres said as he presented the award to Willis in an ornate salon at the ministry."

I mean, check out this pic. Bruce is looking at this French Futon thinking, "Are you serious Frenchy? I walk across broken glass in Die Hard 1, and all I get is some Officer in the Order of Arts and Letters?!? Futon this Futon."

What I wonder is, was it the Die Hard Trilogy, The Whole Nine Yards, or the Color of Night (in which we saw the color of his futon) that made Bruce Willis the "force of American cinema"?

I think it was his willingness to befriend the 20 year old that is having a kid with his ex-wife. That seems pretty French-Euro-Moderno to me. Beyond that it was prob Die Hard.. the rest have just not measured up.

Well lets no forget about the Fifth Element. I mean come on. This is the least the French could have done. When he pulled the blueish rock thing out of the alien singer girls stomach... That kind of thing brings nations together!!! Viva La FRAN CE!!
