Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em!

hammer.jpg

That's right kids and young adults. Hammer used to live out in this neck of the woods. In fact, when I drive my long long commute to my place of employment [palmOne], I find myself gazing up into the rolling hillsides of Fremont. Ok, so maybe they're not rolling, and I'm not actually gazing. Nevertheless, I thought I would share a photo, taken from my Treo650 of what I get to see...

See the little red circle? See the little (not so little in reality) house inside said little red circle? That my friends, is Hammer's old pad. He, of course, had to sell it when his album sales dropped like Shiloh seeing blood being drawn. I suppose that yes, I could have contributed to this lack of fundage for the Hammer. After all, I did buy my copy of Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em at the local flea market. The artwork was photocopied, color, but still photocopied. And the cassette was a low quality duplication that probably was made on someone's old Casio tape deck.

I'm sorry that you lost your pimped out pad on the hillside Hammer. Maybe you shouldn't have continued to pay your excessively large payroll to your oversized staff of personal friends and family. I drive by it every day, and find myself humming... My-my-my-my music hits me so hard makes me say oh my Lord / Thank you for blessing me with a mind to rhyme and two hyped feet / Feels good when you know you're down ...

Yes Please Hammer, Don't Hurt em.
Everytime Holly and I drive to the bay she always points out that hammer lived there as well. How special that you get to see it everyday on your commute! On my commute this morning I saw where a bum sleeps by the train tracks... maybe it was hammer??? Wow what irony!!
